Austin’s Avalanche Consulting hired to develop Bastrop Economic Development Strategy

June 11, 2012

Austin, TX (June 11, 2012) – Avalanche Consulting has been awarded a contract with the Bastrop Economic Development Corporation to create an economic development strategy for the community. The project, which includes a comprehensive competitive assessment, target industry evaluation, and strategic plan, will begin in June 2012 and take six months to complete.

“When passion collides with vision great things happen,” said Dave Quinn, Executive Director of Bastrop EDC.  “I am excited to have Amy and her team on the ground here in Bastrop helping us bring our vision for economic development in our community into focus.”

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the Bastrop EDC on this important assignment,” said Amy Holloway, President of Avalanche Consulting.  “This part of Texas is near and dear to my heart.  It is a true privilege to help such a special community craft a plan for its future.”

Avalanche Consulting’s strategic planning process encourages all residents of Bastrop to participate.  The greater the level of participation, the better the consulting team will be able to tailor the strategy to the vision of its residents.  To begin, Bastrop citizens are invited to share their ideas with the consulting team through an online survey, which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.  A link to the survey is available at www.BastropStrategy.com.

Avalanche Consulting is headquartered in Austin, Texas.  Avalanche Consulting’s principals, Amy Holloway and Chris Engle, have worked with more than 100 economic and workforce development organizations during their careers, including recent strategic plans for The Beacon Council in Miami-Dade County, Florida; JAXUSA Partnership in Jacksonville, Florida; Brownwood EDC in Brownwood, Texas; and Lowcountry SC Economic Alliance in South Carolina, among others.
